Chennai Super Kings put Kolkata Knight Riders in place

A Victory that not only showcased the potential of the team but also reassured the fans.

1. Dhoni in Form: Dhoni showed that he still posses the form of the practice matches and took the game away from Kolkata Knight Riders single-handely.
2. Badri: 40+ runs scored by him was crucial. But the huge positive is that he did not sacrifice his wicket for other aggressive batsman coming lower down the order. (Something he used to do in earlier seasons)
3. Albie: Albie's first over was the final nail in the coffin of the defeat. Hope he keeps up his bowling performance for the team.

1. Tyagi Out: It was sad to see Tyagi dropped out of the team after a bad performance. And Gony, who came in for Tyagi, blew hot and cold in his 3 overs. I am still waiting to see those in-swingers from Tyagi that made VB choose him for the team.
2. Haydos: Haydos would be disappointed after his performance today. Expect him to come up with a powerful performance sooner rather than later.

Fan's Man of the Match: Dhoni, who converted 135 total to a 165 total.

Robin :

Good Win !

Dhoni's hand injury looks ominous and I hope he recovers soon.

catches win matches.. simple..

aswin caught hodge..
morkel c ganguly..
vijay c r.gavaskar
and dhoni's owaish shah catch...

and in ground fielding.. raina, badri and balaji did superbly to stop some..

good to see kemp picking up 3 wickets..

last but not the lease.. MSD.. really a captain cool.. last 6 overs 83 runs..
we are expecting a par score about 135 - 140 - s.fleming said.. but 164, match winning score..

in the middle overs of the csk batting wasim akram said "Dada is leading from the front" hahah.. a JOKE.. really a JOKE..
how can he say that when he[ganguly] failed for 3 matches in a row.. come on wasim.. you will get ur salary hike for sure..

as haydos said, a perfect team work.

nice way to open our account... wud have loved to see haydos score more though, and the same goes for raina...

but this is wat i had a prob with... plenty of praise is given to kemp for the three wickets he took which is a good thing, but 2 of those wickets were boundary line catches meaning the bowler didnt do somethin great to get em out.... balajis wickets on the other hand were brilliant, ages since we saw him bowl like that. and am kinda disappointed tat he isnt being given due praise.... he def deserves it..

Good win, but the start was not that good losing hayden and raina very early vijay done well and until dhoni and badri smashed there was no hope of winning. Overall good fielding and bowling helped CSK to winover but other teams are more stronger than kkr. Balaji bowled beatifully so as aswin and murali.Good luck for the games to come.

@ Sathya,

Dhoni might be out for 10 days. Time for others to stand up and be counted

yes.. it was a good all-round performance. But Dhoni was the stand-out player

@ Raghav,

As Cricinfo commented. Balaji's Shah wicket was the ball of the tournament

@ Karthik,

Pitch was 135-140 score pitch. So i was even ok with the things going on until that final outburst from Dhoni & Badri. Since keeping wickets until then, allowed the team to score that extra 20 runs.

Replacing Tyagi with Gony was a good strategy. Tyagi was totally out of sorts in the first match and wilted under pressure bowling continuous no-balls.
